These Explorations are hosted by the Minnesota Microscopy Society for Project Micro, which is a joint project of the Microscopy Society of America and the Lawrence Hall of Science. Another result of this project is the publication of a microscopy manual in the Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) series.
Most of the microscopy has been done at the Characterization Facility at the University of Minnesota.
